Sling Media's award winning Slingbox turns any Internet-connected PC, Mac, or mobile device into your home television allowing you to watch your TV virtually anywhere in the world. The Sling Entertainment Group is a division of Sling Media and will deliver new applications and services enabled by the Slingbox's marriage of familiar TV programming and richly interactive web-connected devices.
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing projects from concept through completion, ensuring proper team and client communication, timing, and scoping. Ideal candidates will have experience managing and producing projects with a media focus, from large-scale web sites to intricate multi-platform executions.
Responsibilities:
- Work team leads in Technology, Design and Management to create project plans and scope documentation.
- Manage multiple project schedules and align goals of inter-disciplinary team to meet project milestones on a day-to-day basis.
- Working with team leaders in Technology and Design to identify critical milestones and ensure the timely delivery with accurate time estimates in schedule.
- Monitor work progress daily using MS Project and updating project plans to flag any time, resource or cost issues.
- Contribute to the planning and scoping of future phase projects and initiatives.
- Collaborating with the team managers on efficient use of resources assigned to the project.
- Identifying and managing issues as they arise, escalating as necessary.
- Updating the team on approved dates around key milestones with the project status, updates to wireframes or design deliverables, and meeting notes.
- Understanding the project and client goals by assessing the requirements, success metrics, milestones and deliverables.
- Generate weekly reports of status on each project/initiative.
Requirements:
- At least three years of project management experience.
- Precise organization and project management skills.
- Strong knowledge of design technologies.
- Strong knowledge of programming technologies.
- Excellent team and client management skills.
- Solid history of developing projects from start to completion successfully.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead teams in deadline situations
- Strong computer skills including MS Project
- Ability to judge when issues need to be escalated to Senior Management.
- Experience trafficking interactive projects with a media focus, from large-scale web sites to intricate multi-platform executions.
- A positive and collaborative attitude to thrive in interdisciplinary team environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to budget and schedule.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and complex requirements.
