any Internet-connected PC, Mac, or mobile device into your home television
allowing you to watch your TV virtually anywhere in the world. The Sling Entertainment Group is a division
of Sling Media and will deliver new applications and services enabled by
the Slingbox’s marriage of familiar TV programming and richly interactive
web-connected devices.
Requirements:
- Ruby on Rails, ERB, AJAX, XHTML,
Javascript, REST, YAML
- Design Ruby on Rails applications
- Understand the demands of a startup and look
forward to it
- Write tests before write code
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or IT
related major
Skills:
- Ruby on Rails, ERB, RJS, YAML,
- REST, Resource-Oriented “addressable,
connectable” services design
- Application deployment through Capistrano
- Front-end tier concepts:
- MVC
- XHTML/CSS
- JavaScript
- Protoype/Scriptaculous
- Middle/DB tier elements
- MySQL – table design, query
tuning, explain, indexing, import/export
- Migrations
- Page caching, edge caching, reverse proxy
- Good understanding of proper HTTP use
- Well versed in Agile Development practices.
